Spinal manipulative therapy, also known as an adjustment or manipulation, is a safe, gentle and painless technique.

Carefully controlled pressure is applied to a joint to encourage improved range of motion/movement. An adjustment removes interference from the nervous system that contributes to restricted movement. This interference may also send pain signals to the brain from the tissues surrounding the joint.

A chiropractic adjustment modifies this interference, decreases pain, increases joint mobility and reduces muscle tightness. Adjustments can be performed to improve mobility in the majority of the joints in your body, not only your spine.

Massage

Massage Therapy is a hands-on manipulation (or “working”) of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue (fascia), tendons and ligaments.

Massage therapy provides an alternative health option to help alleviate pain and dysfunction.

Registered Massage Therapy is well known for reducing stress and improving quality of life, but that’s not all - massage therapy can be used to decrease the pain associated with every day and work-related stresses such as postural strain, as well as to help with injury care and maintenance of optimal health.

Orthotics

Orthotics are devices that are inserted into your shoes to treat or adjust the biomechanics of your feet.

The best orthotics are those which are custom fit for your feet and your activities.

Common conditions which people seek custom fit orthotics include: foot pain, one side of the sole of their shoe wears faster than the other, frequent ankle sprains, shin pain, knee pain, hip pain or low back pain.

As part of the process of fitting you for your orthotics, the chiropractor will take a health history including your occupation and lifestyle, to ensure that the orthotic best supports you in what you do.

We will perform a gait analysis, and a physical assessment of your feet and the joints of your lower limb to ensure that the orthotic best supports you physically.

When your orthotics arrive you will be given specific wearing instructions so that you can get the most clinical benefit.

Most insurance companies cover custom fit orthotics, but many require a referral from a Medical Doctor.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles at specific spots (called acupoints) to decrease pain and improve function.

Acupuncture has been used as a principle component in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years, because it helps to increase whole body health.

Acupuncture has been shown to influence nerves, can decease tension in muscles and other soft tissues, and can increase blood flow – all of which promote faster healing.

As a result, Dr. Daniels uses acupuncture for a wide variety of conditions such as neck pain and headaches, TMJ disorders, low back pain and sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and beyond.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy (PFPT) is a specialized branch of physiotherapy involving assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles are located between the hip bones and the sacrum, and they serve as a bowl to support the pelvic organs including the bladder, colon and uterus.

You may benefit from pelvic floor physiotherapy if you have any type of pelvic floor dysfunction, injury, preparing for or recovering from birth or surgery.

Treatment is tailored to your specific needs after the initial assessment which includes an external examination of the skin, fascia, and muscles of the abdomen, lower back, and inner thighs. An optional internal vaginal and/or rectal exam of the pelvic floor musculature helps give a more complete picture of dysfunction and consequent treatment. The primary goal of treatment is to improve the overall strength and functionality of the pelvic floor muscles which may be too weak or too tight. Treatment includes education, pelvic floor exercises and the manual therapy of muscles.

Urinary Incontinence • Fecal Incontinence • Painful Intercourse (Dyspareunia) • Pain in Areas of the Vagina • Interstitial Cystitis • Painful Bladder Syndrome • Endometriosis • Chronic Pelvic pain • Pudendal Neuralgia • Prenatal Care • Postpartum Care • Pelvic Organ Prolapse • Bowel Pain • Constipation
