Chiropractor

Dr. Andrew McEwan

Dr. McEwan, originally from Northern Ireland, has been a resident of Nova Scotia for the past 20 years. His competitive youth soccer career, combined with an overwhelming interest in the human body, led Dr. McEwan to pursue a career in Chiropractic. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, and graduated magna cum laude and with clinic honours, from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College(CMCC) in 2013.

Dr. McEwan received several awards at CMCC, most notably the Douglas Brown Memorial Award, the CMCC President’s Award, and the Board of Governors’ Chair’s Award. He is a professional member of the CMCC, the CMCC Governors’ Club, the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors. 

Dr. McEwan employs an evidenced informed approach to patient care, utilizing a combination of therapies in everyday practice such as: chiropractic adjustment & mobilization, soft tissue therapy (manual & instrument assisted), therapeutic modalities such as interferential current, taping, and exercise prescription.

Dr. McEwan has a special interest for acute injury management and rehabilitation in sport, but his patients span the spectrum. He has treated those in acute or chronic pain, children to the elderly, office workers to physical labourers.  Dr. McEwan enjoys working with his patients to develop an individual and patient-specific course of treatment. Ultimate goals of therapy are to not only alleviate pain, but also to correct the underlying cause of such, to restore function, prevent reoccurrence, and grant each patient an opportunity to achieve optimal health & performance.

Dr Rebecca Daniels, Chiropractor

Born in Berwick NS, Dr. Rebecca Daniels is proud to have grown up on a farm in the Annapolis Valley. She completed a Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University Agricultural Institute (NSAC), and pursued a Master of Science in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University where she studied cardiovascular health. Following her graduate work, Dr. Daniels attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and graduated cum laude with Clinic Honours as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

While studying, Dr. Daniels was the proud recipient of multiple awards recognizing her leadership including being named Life President of her graduating class from Dalhousie, Memorial University Student Volunteer of the Year and the CMCC Student’s Council Leadership Award.

Dr. Daniels employs an evidence based, patient centred approach to care, and is skilled in multiple techniques to help patients achieve optimal health. She uses chiropractic adjustments (including low force techniques such as Activator and Thompson Technique); joint mobilizations; manual and instrument-assisted soft tissue therapies; and rehabilitative exercises in her care plans. In addition, she has taken advanced training in Contemporary Biomedical Acupuncture, and Pediatric and Perinatal Care including Webster technique.

Nicola McEwan, Registered Massage Therapist

Nicola McEwan

Nicola is a graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. She received the Excellence in Massage Therapy Award, and graduated with Honours in April 2019.  Nicola holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Prior to studying Massage Therapy, Nicola worked in long term care facilities and community services.

Nicola is passionate about educating patients on health and wellness, as demonstrated in her knowledge of clinical assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation. She works with patients to outline their treatment goals, and provides collaborative treatment planning and remedial exercises. 

Throughout her education Nicola took special interest in the study and treatment of arthritic conditions, neurological conditions, and sports massage. Nicola utilizes hydrotherapy modalities and general Swedish massage techniques in the healing of soft tissue and joint injuries.

Nicola has worked with pre & post operative, osteo and rheumatoid arthritic, whiplash, and general maintenance patients, to name a few. Nicola is also certified in myofascial cupping and ‘Gua Sha’ techniques. 

Registered Massage Therapist

Sandra England

Sandra graduated from ICT Northumberland College in 2007 with a 2200 hr massage therapy diploma. She is a member of both the massage therapist association of Nova Scotia (MTANS), and the massage therapists association of Manitoba (MTAM). Since graduating in 2007, she has taken a number of courses from cupping, to K-taping, to headache & neck pain treatment, and even infant massage.

Sandra is originally from Guysborough, but spent her teenage years on the South Shore. She has spent most of her career working in rehab centers, and specializes in pre & post surgical massage. After spending some time in Manitoba, and Ontario, Sandra is back in Nova Scotia.

When she’s not working, she spends most of her time with her two dogs, Scotia, and Rosey.

Jodi Bremner, Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

Jodi Bremner

Following ten years teaching yoga and fitness classes, Jodi completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with First Class honours from Dalhousie University. She graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2019. 

Jodi has worked as a Physiotherapist with Nova Scotia Health, caring for inpatients and outpatients. However, she was always interested in pursuing a career in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, further reinforced during her first pregnancy. After her son was born, Jodi advanced her pelvic health knowledge and skillset through training in non-internal pelvic floor physiotherapy, preparation for and recovery from cesarean birth, internal female urinary incontinence and Clinical Pilates. She plans to continue to advance her skillset to treat populations with issues related to the pelvic floor, including those in the prenatal and postpartum phase of their life.

Jodi has been working with a pelvic health lens since February 2022, and is excited to join the team at Berwick Chiropractic Health & Wellness Centre. She is currently taking appointments to help treat female urinary incontinence and to prepare for and recover from birth. Whether it is leakage due to pregnancy/postpartum, weakened/overactive pelvic floor musculature, urgency, or stress (coughing, jumping, sneezing, etc.), Jodi can help! 

Phil Bremner, Physiotherapist

Philip Bremner

Philip has been practicing since 2019 when he graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. Prior to this he taught high school/middle school math and science in New Brunswick and Alberta for nearly 10 years. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor in Science in 2006 and Bachelor of Education in 2008. Philip brings his experience as a teacher into the physiotherapy profession where he creates a patient centred approach to treatment.

Philip uses a combination of techniques including manual therapy, soft tissue release, pain management modalities, home exercise programs, and educational strategies to help his patients achieve their goals. He is certified with Functional Dry Needling, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Concussion Management, Titliest Performance Institute, and McKenzie Method.

Philip enjoys working with individuals to maximize their quality of life. Whether it’s an individual who has had a chronic nagging injury preventing them from enjoying an activity they love, or an acute injury that nee ds rehabilitation, Philip enjoys helping people return to activity and sport. Using an evidence based approach, he will work with you to address the underlying cause of your symptoms and develop a specialized plan to help you accomplish your goals, no matter what they may be.

Linda Angus

Linda originates from Ireland and her love of travel brought her to Canada.

She enjoys supporting the community and meeting new people as the reception for Berwick Chiropractic Health & Wellness.
